 Applications of ergonomics in developing countries: reality and perspectives.

[ 26-28 October 2015, Hotel  El- Riadh] Algiers.

 

 

 

-CALL FOR PARTICIPATION-

 

1.  Introduction:

The Laboratory of Prevention and Ergonomics, University of Algiers 2, is organizing the Third Ergonomics International Conference about: “Applications of Ergonomics in developing countries: Reality and Perspectives", on the 26 - 28 October 2015, at El Riadh Hotel, Algiers. The conference will be open for all researchers, and interested specialists in various disciplines and sectors to participate ​​with their scientific studies and field experiences.

2.  Problematic of the conference:

All countries in the world including developing countries are seeking to realize the development. They are in this mission required to take advantage of everything that would help in achieving the development process. Different Sciences are among the factors that can contribute to the progress of these countries. Ergonomics as the science that studies the relationship between man and technology is one of these sciences. The industrially developed countries have worked since the creation of this science after World War II to take advantage of it and work on its publication to benefit the concerned establishments, and the entire community in general.

Numerous studies have been conducted about the productivity of workers and the issues of occupational safety and health in developing countries. They have stressed that the application of Ergonomics is very limited or almost non-existent. Workers did not receive any training in Ergonomics. In addition, health problems for workers indicate a deficiency in the application of Ergonomics. Moreover, working conditions in developing countries desperately need to apply Ergonomics. This is how this conference came in order to contribute to the increase of awareness about ergonomics, and encourages its application in developing countries.

3.  Conference objectives:

 This third International conference aims to achieve the following objectives:

1.  Activation of the application of ergonomics in the field of work tools, instruments and traditional methods.

2. Activation of the application of ergonomics in the field of technology transfer to developing countries.

3. Activation of the application of ergonomics in the field of industrial safety and in facing various accidents.

4. Diffusion of ergonomics knowledge in order to contribute to the effective application of ergonomics in developing countries.

5. Diagnosis challenges and obstacles that prevent the effective application of ergonomics in different sectors in developing countries.

6.   Benefit from the experiences of the industrialized countries in the application of ergonomics by different sectors in developing countries.

4.  Conference topics:

Axe 1: application of ergonomics in the field of work tools, instruments and traditional methods.

Axe 2: application of ergonomics in the field of technology transfer to developing countries.

Axe 3: application of ergonomics in the field of industrial safety and in facing various accidents.

Axe 4: Diffusion of ergonomics knowledge through Universities, conferences, books and scientific journals in developing countries.

Axe 5: experiences of industrially developed countries in different sectors and ways to take advantage of them.

5.  Participants:

v  Professors, researchers and students of universities, research centers and specialized institutes.

v  Doctors and Heath specialists.

v  Design engineers, prevention engineers and industrial safety specialists.

v  Administrators and specialists in the human resources.

v  Managers and staff of different economic and social institutions.

v  Relevant organizations, businessmen and all those interested in ergonomics.

6.  Participating conditions: 

1.    The Paper must be relevant to one of the conference’s topics

2.    The Paper hasn’t been previously submitted or published elsewhere.

3.    The Paper should be written in Arabic, French or English.

4.    The Paper must meet the scientific research standards. 

5.    Priority is given to applied researches.

6.    The application form together with an abstract should be sent before the 25th March, 2015 via the E-mail address shown below.

7.    In case of acceptance of the abstract, full article should be sent in accordance with the conference’s model before 20 June 2015, via the E-mail address shown below.

8.    The Paper should be free of spelling, grammar or language errors. 

9.    Filling of the application of registration, in case of final acceptance and sending it before the 25 July 2015.

7.  Important dates:

ˇ       Deadline for submission of abstract: 25/03/2015

ˇ       Notification of acceptance  of abstract: 05/04/2015

ˇ       Deadline for submission of full paper: 20/05/2015

ˇ       Notification of acceptance of final article:  30/06/2015

ˇ       Deadline for sending the application of registration: 25/07/2015

8.  Facilities of participation in the conference:

ˇ       No participating fees are required. 

ˇ       Simultaneous translation into the three languages: Arabic, French and English, is provided during interventions.  

ˇ       Catering for speakers and guests during the days of the conference will be at the expense of the conference organizers.

ˇ       Speakers and guest will get a free copy of the proceedings of the third International Conference about: “Applications of Ergonomics in developing countries: Reality and Perspectives", 2015.

  • Speakers need to pay 50% of the hotel expenses (about: 20-25 Euros per night), the remaining 50% at the expense of the organizers of the conference, Information about method of booking and payment directly to the hotel will be provided later.
  • All keynote speakers and members of the scientific comity will benefit from free accommodation at the hotel.

ˇ         Airline Tickets are on the Participant’s expense.

  • Transportation from the airport to the hotel is provided only for speakers coming from outside Algeria.
